Kauai
Untamed. Lush. Unforgettable.
Visiting Kauai, the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands, is like stepping into a dream. Known as the “Garden Isle,” this lush, untamed corner of Hawaii is bursting with natural beauty, from dramatic cliffs and waterfalls to golden beaches and dense tropical forests. If you're planning a trip to Hawaii, Kauai should be at the very top of your list.
There are countless things to do on this island, no matter what type of traveler you are. For the adventurous, hiking the Kalalau Trail along the stunning Nā Pali Coast is an unforgettable experience. Kayaking the Wailua River to hidden waterfalls is another must. And for breathtaking views without the effort, drive up to Waimea Canyon, often called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.”
Beach lovers will find plenty of things to do too. Spend a day snorkeling at Tunnels Beach, surfing at Hanalei Bay, or simply relaxing under a palm tree at Poipu Beach. There are also scenic boat tours and helicopter rides offering bird’s-eye views of the island’s rugged coastline.
What sets Kauai apart from other parts of Hawaii is its peaceful atmosphere and slower pace. You won’t find massive resorts or overbuilt cities here — just small towns, friendly locals, and unspoiled landscapes.
Cultural and culinary experiences are also among the top things to do in Kauai. Visit local farmers’ markets, try authentic Hawaiian poke, or take in a traditional luau.
Whether you’re planning a romantic escape, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, Kauai offers a side of Hawaii that’s raw, real, and wildly beautiful. And with so many amazing things to do, one visit may not be enough.
