Granada 2 Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1

  • Visit Calle Reyes de Catolícos

  • Eat a Pianono

  • Visit the Alhambra (including the Nasrid Palaces, Generalife, and Alcazaba)

    • Book tickets well in advance

    • Allow at least three hours for a quick visit and all day for a more detailed visit.

    • Top Tip - Take a taxi or bus to the top and walk back

  • Watch sunset at the Mirador de San Nicolás

  • Walk back through the Albaicín

  • Dinner: at Plaza Nueva.

    • Enjoy Tapas at Bodega de Castañeda

  • Enjoy an evening stroll on on the Gran Via de Colon


Day 2

  • Visit the Granada Cathedral

  • Visit the Royal Chapel of Granada next door to the Cathedral

  • Wander through the alleys by the Royal Chapel, Plaza Bib-Ramblas

  • Visit Monasterio de San Jeronimo

  • Visit Basilica San Juan de Dios

  • Explore Sacromonte

    • Sacromonte Caves

    • Abadia de Sacromonte

    • White Cave Flamenco

  • Walk the Carrera del Darro

  • Walk the Paseo de los Tristes

Travel Tips

  • Driving in the heart of Granada can be difficult and parking spots get full early and are very small compared to those trading from the USA.

  • Book tickets for Alhambra as soon as you book your accommodation.

  • Most places take card, but always a good idea to have a small amount of cash on you.

  • Summers can be extremely hot so visit sites early if possible and use the siesta.

  • Take a taxi or bus to all attractions at the top of a hill and walk back. The distances aren’t far, but the inclines are extremely steep.
